What is #ChildrenforChildren? 

In collaboration with Art Wonderland, #ChildrenforChildren - Art with a Heart, is CTG’s biggest fundraising initiative yet. As the title suggests, this year’s fundraising campaign is committed to instilling a strong spirit of giving in our children, helping them to realise their power to give back in meaningful ways.

While capitalising on the power of art to make change in society, we also want to raise awareness for less privileged children who are struggling to read and write in Singapore. These funds will be dedicated to supporting the education of children from low-income families by providing literacy programmes for them.

Date and Time: 9 September (10:00 am to 7:30pm) and 10 September (10:00 am to 6:00 pm)
Location: Blue Room at Arts House
Activities: Storytelling sessions, Arts and Crafts (i.e. animal mask making), Art Auction, Performances, Raffle Prizes and pay as you wish workshops (no registration required)

 

Who is Art Wonderland? 

Art Wonderland is helmed by the people behind Amazing Art Shuttle -- an experienced art education company with over a decade of experience. Art Wonderland started in 2017 and aims to provide children of all ages with a fun, warm and nurturing environment to learn art.

 

The students in Curious Thoughts Academy were actively involved in #ChildrenForChildren, in which they designed leaves on their own.

Their leaves will be collated to make a big & beautiful tree, which will be displayed at our upcoming 2-Day Family carnival!

  • As the title suggests, #ChildrenforChildren aims to instil in our students a sense of altruism for others and a belief in the power of art to give back in meaningful ways. This was a 4-week project that encouraged over 90 children from Art Wonderland to explore the power of art as a tool for positive change, creating a unique artwork with their own story to be discovered.

    The result of this project leads to the art auction showcase titled ‘My Own Mountain to Climb’, that encourages children to reflect on a difficult challenge that they have overcome, and to share that moment and achievement with others viewing their artwork.

    I Can Fly!, by Kayla Ng, tells the story of a piglet’s wish to fly. Working hard for a solution and seeking the help of a group of blue butterflies, they worked together to overcome the odds, and helped the little piglet lift her trotters off the ground. These artworks and more will be exhibited and open for auction from now until the 10th September.

    But that's not all – get ready to be amazed by the creative prowess of Teatro, our awesome friends from Temasek Polytechnic. They're bringing the heat with their skit "Don't Steal Happiness," a performance that's not just entertainment, but a lesson in itself!
