Curioustime@SSas

CuriousTime@SSA is a fun, child-centered literacy programme that helps children aged 3 to 8 years old from low-income families build strong foundations in reading and writing. Through engaging, play-based weekly phonics classes, children receive the support they need to thrive in school and beyond.

Why CuriousTime@SSA?

Many children from low-income families in Singapore face significant barriers to literacy development:

  • The school system heavily relies on memorisation (the Whole Word Approach), which can disadvantage children who lack home support.

  • Most available literacy support programmes are volunteer-run, resulting in inconsistent teaching quality and limited progress.

CuriousTime@SSA fills this critical gap.

What we offer?

  • Free weekly phonics classes held at Social Service Agencies (SSAs) across Singapore

  • Small class sizes (max 10 children) with 1 experienced main teacher and 1 assistant teacher

  • Lessons led by professional, full-time educators from our sister organisation, Curious Thoughts Academy

  • A proven curriculum using Jolly Phonics, a research-backed method that supports children of all learning needs
