Curioustime@SSas
CuriousTime@SSAs is a fun child-centered literacy programme that aims to help children, aged 3 to 8 years-old, from low income families learn how to read and write.
The programme consists of free weekly phonic classes conducted at various social service agencies (SSAs) around Singapore. These classes are conducted by experienced professional full-time teachers from CTG’s sister company, Curious Thoughts Academy (CTA). The classes are capped at 10 students with 1 main teacher and 1 assistant teacher.
CuriousTime@SSAs also uses Jolly Phonics as its core curriculum. Jolly Phonics has been scientifically proven to be able to help children with various learning needs gain the ability to read and write.
Currently, CuriousTime@SSAs is the only literacy programme, for children from low income families, that is conducted by full time, experienced and professional educators. Many other literacy programmes for children from less privileged backgrounds in Singapore rely heavily on volunteers. CTG believes that its team of professional teachers brings the necessary commitment and experience needed to ensure consistency, quality, and the best results for the children. All our teachers are dedicated to empowering and levelling the playing field for children who need it the most.
CuriousTime@SSAs has been running since 2018 and has impacted the lives of over 322 students.
