Let’s Learn english!

Let’s Learn English is an interactive reading programme where volunteers support young beneficiaries in building their literacy skills through read-along sessions and sight word games. Each session also includes free play and art & craft activities to create a fun and engaging learning environment.
Format: 4 sessions (3 hours each)
Volunteer Commitment: Minimum 2 out of 4 sessions

Storytime

StoryTime is a community initiative that brings joy to seniors in Senior Activity Centres. Volunteers read stories, play games, sing songs, and engage in simple arts and crafts activities to brighten the day of less privileged elderly.
Format: Ad-hoc sessions (4 hours each)

A 4-week phonics programme for young children from low-income families. Volunteers support read-alongs, sight word games, free play, and art activities to build literacy skills.
Role: Assist children with reading, games, and class activities.
Format: 4 sessions (3 hours each)
Commitment: At least 2 sessions

Role: Engage seniors through reading and fun group activities.
Format: Ad-hoc sessions (4 hours each)

Literacy on Zoom

An online phonics programme for children from low-income families. Volunteers support small group reading and phonics practice via Zoom.
Role: Guide children through reading and phonics activities online.
Format: Weekly 1-hour sessions
Commitment: At least 6 months

Fundraising Campaigns

Green for Literacy is a school-based fundraising campaign that raises funds to support literacy programmes for children from low-income families. Students champion the cause by leading recycling donation drives to exchange for financial proceeds for the campaign.
Role: Collect recycling materials whilst advocating for envrionmentally sustainable practices.
Format: Flexible (planned over a week or month with the school)
Commitment: Customised based on school needs

Carnival Day

Carnival Day is a collaborative event where students run game booths, art stations, and activity corners for children or seniors under our care. It is designed to raise funds for our literacy programmes for children from low-income families.
Student Role: Plan and facilitate games, manage activity stations, and interact with beneficiaries during the event.
Format: One-day event (typically 4–5 hours)
Commitment: Includes pre-event planning and a full-day execution
